THE PERFECT APPLICATION

Clarins answers your beauty question

Q: My lipstick tends to “run”. I believe that a lip liner helps but I don’t know whether I should go for a lighter or darker colour than my lipstick. Sarah – Cape Town, South Africa

A: To create a perfect and long-lasting effect, your lip liner should either be nude or be as close as possible to your lipstick colour. Lip liner can also be applied all over the lip area as a base before applying your lipstick; a great trick to shape your lips. The biggest taboo is to apply a very dark lip liner with a light lipstick, as this looks unnatural and as your lipstick fades through the day, you may be left with a dark ring around your mouth.
