We’ve chosen our top winter trends and we are delighted to report that they are looking FABulous!

When it comes to shopping for a new season, and updating your wardrobe with the key elements, it’s important to get some expert insight. We trust you enjoy our series of winter trends – a series of gorgeous fashion, combined with practical tips, on how to make these must-have trends work best for your skin tone, body shape and lifestyle.

This week we showcase the following five trends: Ravishing Red, Pink in the New Black, The Blanket Scarf, Navy is my Neutral and The Knee Length Knitted Dress.

RAVISHING RED

It is getting colder and colder and we love red because it makes you look hotter and hotter! Red is a key colour trend this winter season and it is gloriously showcased across the entire style spectrum – from clothing to accessories, to hair and makeup. Red is a warm, confident, happy, sexy colour – it is also an extremely versatile colour co-ordinating beautifully with every single basic colour. If you get hot, or if you blush very easily, it is best to wear red as a lower neckline, or on the lower half of your body, or as an accessory. Whether you wear red from head-to-toe, or just as a splash of colour as a hat or statement accessory, you will be sure to look ravishingly on-trend this winter season.

PINK IS THE NEW BLACK

Pink is the new black! One of the hottest colours for the season, you will see it everywhere. Pink, from the lightest shade to the brightest shade to the darkest shade, is the perfect colour to dress up, or down – and suits all skin tones, from Soft to Medium, from Deep to Rich. Pink is feminine and romantic, it is sexy and luscious. It conjures up adjectives that pertain to every single personality type. It is one of the true colours that you can wear 24/7 – as a smart suit for professional attire, as a dramatic evening dress for a formal function or as a casual jersey relaxing over the weekend. Pretty in pink (or pretty hot in pink) rules this winter season!

BLANKET SCARVES

A blanket scarf is a really really really big scarf! Soft in texture – and warm, cosy and comfortable – it is an essential accessory for winter; perfect to dress up or down. This super versatile accessory can be worn in so many different ways: (1) As a basic wrap or throw-around (2) The cold-shoulder i.e. positioned over one shoulder only and secured with either a brooch or belt (3) Long and layered – simply drape the scarf around your neck (4) Belted – this style option will only work if you have a petite body shape and a small waist (5) Worn in a diamond shape around your neck i.e. fold the scarf in half then tie it around your neck. A blanket scarf is already a big scarf so it is very important not to the let the overall size overwhelm your overall body shape – the best tip we can give you is to ensure the end of the scarf ends around the lower hip area, not longer. If all else fails use it as a blanket : ) ! Keep nice and toasty.

NAVY IS MY NEUTRAL

Navy, traditionally one of the most conservative colours on the colour palette, is stylishly re-invented. From basic to brilliant, for all skin tones. Showcased in beautiful fabrics from workwear wools and poly blends to evening treasures such as velvet and lace. Be super-trendy and wear tones of navy, from the darkest French navy to the true lighter navy classic – then add the element of interest by wearing a textured fabric, for example a navy wool suit with a sequin top. From sleek and sophisticated to casual and comfy this gorgeous colour works 24/7.

WINTER DRESSES

A knitted dress is the perfect must-have for winter. Wear this gorgeous trend on its own or layer with a coat, a ¾ length on-trend cardigan or blanket scarf. Accessorise smartly with court shoes and long elegant boots and casually with pumps or ankle boots always making sure your pantyhose or opaque tights are the same colour as your shoes or boots to ensure continuity. You need to have a good figure to wear this shaped style successfully – if you have a slightly fuller figure go up a dress size for a loose fit and wear body-shaping underwear for added shape.
