Do you ever find yourself staring with envy at pictures of celebs, with their sexy, beach waves, wishing you knew how to curl your hair and make it last more than 30 minutes? I enjoyed this blog by Dani Ryan and wanted to share
1. IT ALL STARTS WITH YOUR HAIR CUT
Blunt ends won’t hold a curl; longer layers work best. The health of your hair also plays a very important role; in fact, the more damaged and split the ends are, the harder it is to curl your hair.
2. CUT BACK ON THE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER
It is a well-known fact that hair that hasn’t been washed for a day or two holds a style better than freshly washed hair. It is also advisable to cut back on the amount of hair conditioner you use; this will help to hold the curls better!
3. INVEST IN A GOOD DRY SHAMPOO
A little dry shampoo will do wonders by adding volume and getting rid of any excess oil.
4. PROTECT YOUR LOCKS AND ADD SOME TEXTURE TO YOUR HAIR
Always apply a heat protector to your hair before using a curling iron or diffuser. Invest in good quality finishing products – mousse / hairspray, etc – that best suit your hair type, and maintain the curl for longer.
5. THE ULTIMATE TIP
The good old way : ) If you truly want your curls to last throughout the day roll each fresh curl around your finger, then pin it (very close to your skull) with a bobby pin. Once complete add hair spray and wait for 10 minutes. Remove each curl, one by one. The end result? Bouncy curls that last all day long!
