MARLETHA, 46: NURSE

Marletha, a professional nurse on an oil rig off the Angolan coast, felt a desperate need for a makeover. At 46, she was the hippest granny we’ve ever met, and we wanted to create a style that would match her energetic personality. We felt her fringe was too severe and the long style ageing. We gave her a shorter style with an edgier fringe and lots of layers for easy maintenance. We added drama to her hair colour by weaving mahogany and caramel highlights into a cool chocolate base. We accentuated the shape of Marletha’s eyebrows to beautifully frame her face; and we used a neutral, long-wear lipstick for low maintenance colour. Lustrous shades of coral and berry lipgloss added a youthful glow. Marletha wanted a casual, yet stylish look, so we showed her how to achieve this.
