Q. DO YOUR CONSULTANTS WORK FOR YOU OR ARE THEY INDEPENDENT?
A. Chata Romano Consultants are independent and they manage their own diary; they do not work for us. Once they are trained (and certified) they operate as independents under the umbrella of our brand.
Q. HOW DOES YOUR REFERRAL SYSTEM WORK?
A. Queries that come through our office, or via our website, are referred onto our consultants (unless the client has viewed the consultants’ web pages and selected the consultant of her choice) and referrals carry a 20% fee. Income generated by the consultant is theirs, 100%, no commission fee is due to Head Office.
Q. DOES CHATA ROMANO ADVERTISE MY BUSINESS?
A. You are an independent consultant who owns her own business; you are not employed by CHATA ROMANO. You are therefore responsible for your own marketing, advertising and developing your own database. CHATA ROMANO does, however, market their consultants at every opportunity.
Q. HOW MANY CONSULTANTS DO YOU PLAN ON TRAINING?
A. As you can see from our list of consultants we do not have hundreds of consultants. It has always been our vision to have a small team of dedicated, passionate and highly skilled consultants – quality, not quantity.
Q. DO I HAVE TO QUIT MY FULL TIME JOB ONE I HAVE RECEIVED MY ACCREDITATION?
A. Not at all. Quite a number of our consultants consult part-time.
Q. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED TO BECOME A CONSULTANT?
A. You do not, necessarily, have to have experience in the field of fashion, beauty or hair – as a matter of fact, most of our consultants don’t. Chata’s training programme is, primarily, designed for those individuals who:
- Enjoy helping women look and feel their best
- Consider themselves natural communicators and good motivators
- Are well groomed, articulate, confident, dynamic and organized
- Have an entrepreneurial spirit
- Are committed to excellence
- Want to be successful
Q. CAN I TRAIN WITH CHATA ROMANO AND THEN START MY OWN BUSINESS?
A. Yes. Certified Chata Romano Consultants are independent – they are welcome to use or market the copyrighted and trademarked brand name CHATA ROMANO (and have access to all our templates) whilst operating under the umbrella of CHATA ROMANO. You are required to operate using the Chata Romano trademarked and copyrighted systems.
Q. IF I DO YOUR TRAINING PROGRAMME IN, FOR EXAMPLE, SOUTH AFRICA, CAN I OPERATE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD?
A. Yes. Certified Chata Romano Consultants are awarded with an international certificate from THE CHATA ROMANO TRAINING ACADEMY therefore giving them the accreditation to operate anywhere in the world.

Colour Consultants are required to purchase a consultation kit, upon certification, @ R2,000, which includes:
- Fabric swatches for colour analysis
- A full set of Power Point Presentations for all Group Colour Consultations and Workshops
- A full set of templates for stationery, business documents, marketing and advertising
Image Consultants need to purchase a consultation kit, upon certification, @ R2,000, which includes:
- A full set of Power Point Presentations for Group Colour and Style Consultations and Workshops
- A full set of templates for stationery, business documents, marketing and advertising.
It is also advisable to allocate a budget to market yourself and to understand how to set up a business before you commence consulting. You will also need a laptop computer and data projector for your Power Point Presentations (unless your client provides this equipment.
Templates will be updated once per annum, at a cost of R2,500.
Consultants are required to pay an annual licence fee of R1,800 upon certification, renewable on the 1st day of each New Year. This fee also covers the cost for us to maintain your individual page within our website. If certification is issued after 1st August a licence fee of R1,250 will be due. An annual increase of 10% will be charged.
Consultants to pay a 20% referral fee on all referrals received directly from Head Office pertaining to services booked. This referral fee will only be applicable to enquiries that come directly to Head Office, either telephonically or via e-mail, and will only be relevant if the referral results in a confirmed booking. Should the same client re-book you in future (irrespective of the time frame), the respective commission will be applicable for every booking thereafter.
Request for a refund must please be made in writing – refunds will be granted under the following conditions:
- Up to 2 weeks prior to training date – 100% refund
- 14 to 10 days prior to training date – 50% refund
- Less than 10 days prior to training date – no refund
Q. DO YOU OFFER CORRESPONDENCE COURSES?
A. Chata’s training programme is very much one-on-one; we are, therefore, sorry to advise that we do not offer studies by correspondence.
Q. DO I RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE?
A: Yes. You receive a certificate of accreditation once you have completed the training programme and successfully passed the exam. CHATA ROMANO owns her Intellectual Property which is trademarked, protected and trustworthy – she is not answerable to any other Training Academy. All of CHATA ROMANO’S training manuals and consultation materials are copyright and trademarked and remain the property of her organisation.

Q. I HAVE DONE TRAINING AS A CONSULTANT WITH ANOTHER TRAINING ACADEMY. WHY DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE COLOUR CERTIFICATION BEFORE I COMPLETE THE IMAGE CERTIFICATION?
Some of our consultants have had previous training in the colour, style, hair or makeup field. And whilst they are certified (in the non-Chata system) they need to go through the CHATA ROMANO training programme because it is so different to the other training programmes. Consultants are, therefore, required to complete their colour certification which includes The Chata Romano Colour System. You are not able to conduct an effective consultation without showing your client which hair, makeup and clothing colours best suit her skin tone.
Q. I LIVE IN EAST LONDON, SOUTH AFRICA. WHY DO YOU TRAIN IN GAUTENG ONLY?
A. We receive applications from throughout South Africa so it is easier, and more cost-effective, for the delegates to travel to one place instead of Chata travelling to many places. Training is, therefore, conducted in Gauteng only (we hope you can make it!)
Q. WHY DO WE HAVE TO WRITE EXAMS?
A. In order for us to ensure you understand the CHATA ROMANO systems. The exams are part theory and part practical. For ease of mind: The exams are not extremely difficult – Chata is an excellent trainer, her numerous consultant endorsements will support this fact.
Q. WHAT STANDARDS MUST WE ADHERE TO?
A. As a Chata Romano Consultant you will be required to maintain a high standard in terms of your own image and conduct, which should be professional and well groomed. We also expect you to be friendly and approachable. The friendly professional is always called back again and again (and again☺).
Q. WHERE WILL I CONDUCT MY BUSINESS?
A. From home or an office, there are no set rules. Either way, your working environment must please be professional, yet relaxing at the same time. You should also have good daylight (or good lighting) in order to conduct the colour analysis correctly.
Q. HOW DO I GO ABOUT PRINTING MY STATIONERY?
A. You will be provided with a full set of templates for stationery, business documents, marketing and advertising.
Q. IS HAIR AND MAKEUP PART OF OUR SYLLABUS?
A. No, you would refer your clients to the experts.
