Hello beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, magnificent Cape Town – how we have missed you!!! Pumpkin and I stayed in a gem of a boutique hotel, 3 ON CAMPS BAY, for a blissful 3 weeks before we moved into our new home in Gauteng. This luxury 16-bedroom guesthouse has every amenity to offer (and I will share some of these delights with you) – for us it was home away from home, with sea and mountain views to die for!!! After staying in hotels and executive apartments for the past 15 years I forgot I was in a hotel, it was that welcoming. Super-efficient and super-friendly. Not an easy combination for a hotel management team to pull off but they did, splendidly. Here is an overview of our stay:

We had been driving for 8-hours so the thoughtful welcome basket of fresh fruit, dried fruit, nuts, chocolate and champers was most appreciated.

Our room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, super comfortable and beautifully decorated. This pleasurable experience was echoed throughout the entire hotel – from our room, to the upstairs communal lounge, to the downstairs pool, through to the breakfast area. And yes, those gorgeous white fluffy bathrobes were just fabulous : )

My followers know my attention to detail so you can image my delight when every element of our room impressed me – the soft fragrance of fresh flowers, the considerate amenities, the coffee and tea station, the double sided vanity mirror and so much more. And the bath with a sea view – what else could a girl ask for???!!!

I love this photo of the me with the owners of 3 ON CAMPS BAY, Zita and George Colyvas. They represent every adjective that one can possibly use when describing the perfect home away from home. There are a lot of hotels that can take a professional and caring page from their excellent book. They are complete sweetie-pies. And so is every single member of their team, see the next photo.

Their staff is out of this world! They have all been well trained and genuinely delight in ensuring your stay is as perfect as possible. It was also very impressive how they worked together as a well-oiled machine. They concentrate on the breakfast experience in the morning, and then attend to their housekeeping responsibilities after 11h00. So if you want to relax and sleep in, it is so peaceful and quiet. I thought this was so considerate.

As you know I am a night-owl and I very seldom rise for an early morning breakfast. The breakfast at 3 ON CAMPS BAY was the exception to the rule – the breakfasts are DELICIOUS. There is a daily special, which is freshly cooked to your specification. A charmingly delightful staff member takes your order and you can enjoy the fresh ocean breeze while you wait for your scrumptious brekkie. Pumpkin limits himself to one coffee a week – this went right out the window ….. he had a coffee every single morning, it was that wonderful.

I was delighted to hear that management incentivize their staff to a Master Chef type competition – whoever puts forward the best idea is featured. Here are a few of their inspired dishes – and how happy was I that there were healthy options. First class, all the way : ) !

If you feel like a light meal then you must sample the delicious cheese platter, generous array of fresh seasonal fruits and top class homemade pastries.

3 ON CAMPS BAY has three floors. The top floor has a beautiful open plan kitchen where you are welcomed to enjoy the complimentary tea and coffee station – and the homemade pastries, from breakfast, are also available throughout the day, how incredibly considerate!

You are also welcome to relax in the stylish and comfy lounge. There is a TV, with full satellite options, and up-to-date magazines you can read. Or you can just sit back and enjoy the spectacular mountain and sea views from the lounge, or the spacious balcony adjacent to the lounge.

Pumpkin and I finally got to enjoy the champers from our welcome basket – the late afternoon sunlight was warm, and life was just fabulous.

I had many productive meetings in the lounge area during my stay – here I am reviewing the layout for my new hair, makeup and clothing colour chart.I can’t wait to share more news about this exciting new product!

I took lots of snap shots of the communal areas, which are well thought out and stylish – I am loving the animal printed vases.

I popped into one of the mountain facing rooms during my stay and was delighted to see the full glory of the famous Twelve Apostles – the mountain range is simply breath-taking. A well-trained and knowledgeable front desk manager informed us that there were various mountain trails to explore, from 10 minutes to 45 minutes.

I loved the photo Pumpkin took of Signal Hill from our balcony – the soft, pretty night lights against the majestic backdrop of the mountains. We are looking forward to another spectacular sunset.

And we were not disappointed. There were so many fabulous evenings we shared on our balcony watching the sun dip into the ocean. These views are what dreams are made of.

The views are also simply stunning from the spacious sundeck, right next to the breakfast area, which everyone can enjoy from their comfy deckchairs. The well-stocked honesty bar, which also has soft drinks, is a brilliant idea.

A huge plus is that 3 ON CAMPS BAY is perfectly located. The walk down to the famous Camps Bay beach is only 10 minutes away, and we had a few lovely strolls in the evenings (ooooh, and the restaurants – from casual to smart – are yummy). The friendly management team will advise you on which sights to see – from Hout Bay to the wine route, the options are endless. And I got to enjoy them all with my Pumpkin!

FAMILY TIME : ) : ) : ) We had the most FABulous picnic with all my gorgeous siblings and cuter-than-cute nephews and nieces. It’s been such a long time that we were all in the same place at the same time. It was so great to get together, wish we could do this more often. Stunning company with people who really care about me!

And I also got to spend precious time with these FABulous beautiful women!!! Proudly introducing you to my stunning Western Cape Image Consultants, from left to right: Zita Colyvas, Karyn Lindes, Delia Barker, (Me), Riana Meyer, Lienkie de Kock and Willene Sieberhagen. I so appreciate this remarkable group of women who support, nurture and respect one another – I look at this photograph and I see true sunflowers. A special thank you to Willene who welcomed and hosted us at her magnificent home.

And the cherry on top of the cake was having a most wonderful dinner with Zita and her equally wonderful husband George – cheers : ) LOL re Pumpkin’s hot pink glove to keep his hands nice and toasty in this breezy weather.

Beautiful Cape Town – you have been so very good to us. Our trip has almost come to an end and we just couldn’t leave without having fish and chips at Hout Bay harbour. The seagulls squawking in the background, the smell of the ocean breeze and my frizzy hair getting more and more frizzy as each second went by (LOL). Loved every minute – we shall be back soon XXX

And my final photograph, for this blog: Our Cape Town trip has been FABulous! The fresh air, the sea, the friends, the food, the hospitality – all absolutely divine. I have enjoyed writing about my experience – and I will be a lifetime client of 3 ON CAMPS BAY. Also LOOOOOVING my animal printed jacket which is keeping me nice and toasty in this breezy weather : ) : ) : ) !!!

3 ON CAMPS BAY is highly recommended – whether you are travelling for business or pleasure. Thank you so much to Zita, George and their top-notch staff. We will miss this gem, we will certainly be back soon.
