COLOUR CONSULTANT - LEVEL 1 (3 DAYS)

With extensive training in The Art of the Colour Consultation, as well as the conducting of Colour Workshops, our Colour Consultants are champions at finding their clients most complimenting colours. Colour Consultants are trained to analyse their clients’ skin tone, providing an expert colour consultation on the importance of hair, makeup and clothing colour.

Chata’s 3-day training programme is interactive with projects and group participation. There are also practical one-on-one sessions with clients during training which is so valuable in preparing yourself to becoming a consultant! You will receive a comprehensive training manual that covers the following modules:

  • The Chata Romano Colour System: Soft, Medium Deep and Rich
  • Colour analysis (hair, makeup and clothing) utilizing The Chata Romano Colour Chart
  • Your Image: Personal Packaging, Business Etiquette and Positioning yourself as the Expert

With extensive training in The Complete Image Solution our Image Consultants are trained to conduct Personal and Group Consultations providing invaluable advice on figure analysis, style solutions and wardrobe planning to suit their clients lifestyle. As Personal Shoppers our consultants share their knowledge on “how to shop smartly”. They also get the opportunity to present a portfolio of inspirational Workshops.

Chata’s 10-day training programme is interactive with projects and group participation. There are also practical one-on-one sessions with clients during training which is so valuable in preparing yourself to becoming a consultant! You will receive a comprehensive training manual that covers the following modules:

ADVANCED TRAINING: HAIR & MAKEUP, MAKEOVERS & MEN

There is no training module in order to become an Ambassador and / or Senior Image Consultant. Consultants are promoted based on their contribution, to date, and their potential, going forward. An advanced training programme, for Hair & Makeup, Makeovers and Men (Level 3) is conducted subsequent to Image Consultant certification (level 2).

FAQ'S

Q. DO YOUR CONSULTANTS WORK FOR YOU OR ARE THEY INDEPENDENT?

A. Chata Romano Consultants are independent; they do not work for us. Once they are trained (and certified) they operate as independents under the umbrella of our brand.

Q. HOW DOES YOUR REFERRAL SYSTEM WORK?

A. Queries that come through our office, or via our website, are referred onto our consultants (unless the client has viewed the consultants’ web pages and selected the consultant of her choice).

Q. DOES CHATA ROMANO ADVERTISE MY BUSINESS?

A. No. You are an independent consultant who owns her own business; you are not employed by CHATA ROMANO. You are therefore responsible for your own marketing, advertising and developing your own database. CHATA ROMANO does, however, market their consultants at every opportunity.

Q. HOW MANY CONSULTANTS DO YOU PLAN ON TRAINING?

A. As you can see from our list of consultants we do not have thousands of consultants, it has always been our vision to have a small team of dedicated, passionate and highly skilled consultants.

Q. DO I HAVE TO QUIT MY FULL TIME JOB ONE I HAVE RECEIVED MY ACCREDITATION?

A. Not at all. Quite a number of our consultants consult part-time with the goal to establishing a full-time business.

Q. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO I NEED TO BECOME A CONSULTANT?

A. You do not, necessarily, have to have experience in the field of fashion, beauty or hair – as a matter of fact, most of our consultants don’t. Chata’s training programme is, primarily, designed for those individuals who:

  • Enjoy helping women look and feel their best
  • Consider themselves natural communicators and good motivators
  • Are well groomed, articulate, confident, dynamic and organized
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Are committed to excellence
  • Want to be successful

Q. CAN I TRAIN WITH CHATA ROMANO AND THEN START MY OWN BUSINESS?

A. Yes, Certified Chata Romano Consultants are welcome to open their own business but if they want to use or market the copyrighted and trademarked brand name CHATA ROMANO they must then operate under the umbrella of CHATA ROMANO.

Q. IF I DO YOUR TRAINING PROGRAMME IN, FOR EXAMPLE, SOUTH AFRICA, CAN I OPERATE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD?

A. Yes. Certified Chata Romano Consultants are awarded with an international certificate from THE CHATA ROMANO TRAINING ACADEMY therefore giving them the accreditation to operate anywhere in the world.

Q. ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN COSTS?

A. There are no hidden costs, please see below. It is also advisable to allocate a budget to market yourself and to understand how to set up a business before you commence consulting. You will also need a laptop computer and data projector for your Power Point Presentations (unless your client provides this equipment).

  • CONSULTATION KIT

Colour Consultants are required to purchase a consultation kit, upon certification, @ R2,000, which includes:

    • Consultation case
    • Fabric swatches for colour analysis
    • Power Point Presentations for all Group Colour Consultations and Workshops
    • Full set of templates for stationery, business documents, marketing and advertising

Image Consultants need to purchase their consultation kit, upon certification, @ R2,000, which includes:

    • Power Point Presentations for Group Colour and Style Consultations and Workshops
    • Full set of templates for stationery, business documents, marketing and advertising.

Templates will be updated once per annum, at a cost of R2,500.

  • ANNUAL LICENSE FEE

Consultants are required to pay an annual licence fee of R1,800 upon certification, renewable on the 1st day of each New Year. If certification is issued after 1st August a licence fee of R1,250 will be due. An annual increase of 10% will be charged.

  • REFERRAL FEES

Consultants to pay a 20% referral fee on all referrals received directly from Head Office pertaining to services booked. This referral fee will only be applicable to enquiries that come directly to Head Office, either telephonically or via e-mail, and will only be relevant if the referral results in a confirmed booking. Should the same client re-book you in future (irrespective of the time frame), the respective commission will be applicable for every booking thereafter.

  • REFUNDS

Request for a refund must please be made in writing – refunds will be granted under the following conditions:

  • Up to 2 weeks prior to training date – 100% refund
  • 14 to 10 days prior to training date – 50% refund
  • Less than 10 days prior to training date – no refund

Q. DO YOU OFFER CORRESPONDENCE COURSES?

A. Chata’s training programme is very much one-on-one; we are, therefore, sorry to advise that we do not offer studies by correspondence.

Q. IS CHATA ROMANO SETA CREDITED?

We are not SETA credited but we have a very well known and established brand with an outstanding reputation and track record, operating for 25 years. Our network of 28 Internationally Certified Consultants also stand as testimony to our successful Training Academy. Chata is a member of the following associations but her training manuals (copyright and trademarks) remain the property of her organization.

  • AICI (The Association of Image Consultants International)
  • PSASA (Professional Speakers Association)
  • SAPICA (SA Professional Image Consultants Association)
  • APICSA (Association of Professional Image Consultants of South Africa)

Q. I HAVE DONE SOME TRAINING AS A CONSULTANT WITH ANOTHER TRAINING ACADEMY. WHY DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE LEVEL 1: COLOUR BEFORE LEVEL 2: STYLE AND WARDROBE?

A. Some of our consultants have had previous training in the colour, style, hair or makeup field. And whilst they are 100% certified (in the non-Chata system) they need to go through the CHATA ROMANO training programme because it is so completely different to the other training programmes. Consultants are, therefore, required to complete Level 1: Colour which includes The Chata Romano Colour System: Soft, Medium, Deep and Rich i.e.: the hair, makeup and clothing colours that best suit your client’s skin tone. Without the understanding of the colour system you aren’t able to analyze your client properly i.e.: The Image Consultation consists of:

  • Colour analysis
  • Figure analysis
  • Style analysis
  • Wardrobe analysis

Please note that you can either:

  • Apply for both Level 1 and 2
  • Apply for Level 1 only and do Level 2 at a later stage

In summary: All prospective consultants need to complete Chata’s training in order to become one of her recognized, Certified Consultants.

Q. I LIVE IN EAST LONDON, SOUTH AFRICA. WHY DO YOU TRAIN IN GAUTENG ONLY?

A. We receive applications from throughout South Africa so it is easier, and more cost-effective, for the delegates to travel to one place instead of Chata travelling to many places. Training is, therefore, conducted in Gauteng only (we hope you can make it!)

Q. WHY DO WE HAVE TO WRITE EXAMS?

A. In order for us to ensure you understand the various CHATA ROMANO systems. Please note that the exams are part theory and part practical. For ease of mind: The exams are not extremely difficult – Chata is an excellent trainer, her numerous Endorsements will support this fact.

Q. WHAT STANDARDS MUST WE ADHERE TO?

A. As a Chata Romano Consultant you will be required to maintain a high standard in terms of your own image and conduct, which should be professional and well groomed. We also expect you to be friendly and approachable. The friendly professional is always called back again and again (and again☺).

Q. WHERE WILL I CONDUCT MY BUSINESS?

A. From home or an office, there are no set rules. Either way, your working environment must please be professional, yet relaxing at the same time. You should also have good daylight (or good lighting) in order to conduct the colour analysis correctly.

Q. HOW DO I GO ABOUT PRINTING MY STATIONERY?

A. You will be provided with a full set of templates for stationery, business documents, marketing and advertising.

Q. IS HAIR AND MAKEUP PART OF OUR SYLLABUS?

A. No, you would refer your clients to the experts.

Q. IS THIS A GOOD TIME TO BE IN THE IMAGE BUSINESS?

A. Yes! Image is one of the fastest growing industries of this decade!
